Over the last few years, Colorado schools have been switching to the SAT as a college entrance exam and as a measure of achievement. Pagosa Springs High School students take the PSAT in their freshman and sophomore years and, with their teacher, identify areas of strength and need for growth. Using the data from the PSAT allows the teachers to target instruction and encourages students to take responsibility in learning the material at hand.
The Class of 2020, this year's seniors, successfully raised their Reading and Writing score 50 points in one year. Math scores followed the trend with a gain of 31 points from PSAT to SAT.
Great job PSHS!
