Hybrid/Blended Learning

HYBRID/BLENDED LEARNING
 
The Hybrid/Blended Learning Model has students attending face-to-face two days a week, remote learning three days a week. Students will be grouped in two cohorts so only 50% of students will be present at a time. 
 
Cohort A (Last Names A-L) will meet face-to-face on Mondays and Tuesdays. 
Cohort B (Last Names M-Z) will meet face-to-face on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  
Friday will be a remote learning day for all students.
My School Day - Elementary
MY IN-SCHOOL DAY

 

 

  • My parent checks me for signs of COVID.  If I don’t have symptoms or a fever, I get ready for school.

  • I pack my charged Chromebook. 

 
  • I wait with my parent. 

  • I wear my mask.

  • My temperature is checked. If I don’t have a fever, I load the bus. 

  • I sit in my assigned seat.

  • Upon arrival at school, I walk to my designated entrance.

  • Everyone stays in their car.

  • A staff member scans my temperature and then lets me out of my car.

  • I walk to my designated entrance, staying 6 feet apart.

  • I enter my designated entrance. My temperature is scanned. I stay six feet apart from other students.

  • I pick up a breakfast bag and report to class.
  • I wash/sanitize hands.

  • I walk to my classroom and get a warm welcome from my teacher.

  • I put my coat and backpack in my bin or cubby.

  • I sit at my desk and maintain social distance from my classmates.   

  • My classmates who are learning at home today join us on Zoom.

  • My teacher guides our class in setting learning goals for the day.

  • I am introduced to new learning or practice something I’ve already learned.

  • I use my personal supplies and manipulatives. 

  • I use the same Chromebook every day.

  • I stay in our seats, so I stay apart from others.

  • I follow the routine my teacher set.

  • Our class takes a special route to the playground so we don’t pass other students.

  • I stay with my class.

  • I stay in my designated area, away from the playground equipment.

  • I clean my hands before and after recess.

  • I clean my hands before lunch and after play. 

  • Lunch is delivered, and I eat at my assigned seat.

  • Everyday I will have two Specials.

  • The Specials teachers will come to us or meet us outside.

  • I always remember to use my own supplies.

  • My teacher makes sure I understand the schedule for the next three days and review Schoology tasks.

  • I store my supplies and Chromebook, clean my hands, and put on my backpack. 

  • I exit the building at the same place I came in this morning.
  • I load the bus just like I did in the morning, and sit in my assigned seats.
  • I wait with my class in my designated area.
  • Movement is scheduled so that students are not in hallways and at exits/entrances at the same time.

  • Students eat breakfast and lunch in classrooms.

  • Students learn and practice safety routines and frequent hand washing.

  • Students have individual spaces or containers for belongings.

  • Schools have signage and markings to help students follow safety procedures.

  • Students have individual supplies; they are not shared.

  • Social-emotional needs are recognized and monitored.

  • I am in one cohort of students. I don't’ mix with other cohorts.

MY AT-HOME LEARNING DAY - ELEMENTARY

  • I have a scheduled classroom meeting time.

  • I complete my Schoology tasks.

  • I reach out to my teacher if I have questions.

  • I check my class schedule for tomorrow. 

  • I make sure my Chromebook is plugged in so it is charged and I am ready to learn tomorrow.

My School Day - Middle School
MY IN-SCHOOL DAY
  • Complete my health screening prior to getting on the bus.
  • I wear my mask and bring my Chromebook (and charger) or laptop with me to school.
  • I will bring my water bottle since water fountains will not be available.
  • We load the bus back to front. 
  • The bus windows are open unless it is raining hard.
  • There are only about half as many students as usual.
  • I make sure I have all my school supplies needed for the day (Chromebook, notebooks, etc.)
  • I make sure my face mask is on correctly.
  • I make sure I am social distancing 6 feet apart when I arrive at school.
  • If I get breakfast at school, I will get breakfast outside and eat prior to entering the building.
  • I enter through the designated area.
  • I go through the screening process before entering the school or bus.
  • I clean my hands by washing or sanitizing.
  • I go directly to my first period class.
  • I will cooperate with any Middle School staff member to support the health of myself, my fellow peers, and staff.
  • I will have four periods when I am at school. Each period will be 90 minutes.
  • I will have one of my four teachers as an advisory teacher.
  • My teacher introduces new content and helps us apply our learning.  
  • I bring my Chromebook and backpack with my own individual supplies needed for school. 
  • Our assignments and resources are all available on Schoolology, which makes it easier to continue my learning when I am at home later in the week.  
  • I will have assigned seating in each classroom.
  • I will have a break during the class time for movement, outside time, and washing hands.
  • I may have my own individual water bottle for school. 
  • At the end of each class, my teacher makes sure we know the learning goals for the week and when we can access help.  
  • I will help our school by sanitizing my work area prior to entering and leaving the classroom.
  • Each of our teachers gets to know us because there are only 15 students in each class.
  • We have advisory class to build community, support our strategies for social-emotional learning and get help during distance learning.  
  • I get help from counselors and my teachers who know me and my family.
  • I will cooperate with any Middle School staff member to support the health of myself, my fellow peers, and staff.
  • I will transition directly to my next period after each class.
  • I will wash/sanitize my hands prior to eating lunch and after eating lunch.
  • I will eat lunch outside and practice social distancing. 
  • I will follow all signage regarding movement through hallways, social distancing, etc.
  • Students learn and practice safety routines.
  • Students have identified spaces for belongings.
  • Schools have signage and markings to help students follow safety procedures.
  • Frequent cleaning of common areas and supplies 
  • Social-emotional needs are recognized and monitored. 
  • Small classes of 15 students or less and one teacher.
MY AT-HOME LEARNING DAY
  • I can access Schoology on my assigned Chromebook to complete assignments for my four classes.
  • I will check Schoology daily for any updates from teachers regarding assignments.
  • I will email my teacher(s) if I need help or clarification on an assignment.
  • I will attend teachers office hours on Fridays as needed or set an appointment with my teacher(s) to meet for help.
  • I will complete my assignments and turn into my teachers. 
  • I understand that assignments are due when the teacher determines the date.

My School Day - High School

  • I clean my hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer. 
  • I get my breakfast.
  • I go directly to my 1st period classroom and sit in my assigned seat.
  • I have four classes. Each period is 90 minutes long. 
  • I sit in my assigned seat and maintain social distancing. 
  • My teacher introduces new content and helps us apply our learning.  
  • I bring my Chromebook or laptop to school to keep all my work in one place and I am able to access my online math and social studies textbooks so I don’t have to haul as much around.  
  • Our assignments and resources are all available on Schoology, which makes it easier to continue my learning when I am at home later in the week.  
  • At the end of each class, my teacher makes sure we know the learning goals for the week and when we can access help.  My teacher helps me set goals for at- home learning, and we always check calendars so we know how and when to log in for attendance on remote learning days.
  • We have advisory class to build community, support our strategies for social-emotional learning and get help during distance learning.  
  • With my advisory class, I will eat lunch and have outside time weather permitting. 
  • I get help from my advisor who knows me and my family.
  • I will move through the hallways in a structured and directional way to minimize contact and promote social distancing.
  • I will carry all of my materials because lockers are not available. 
  • Students learn and practice safety routines.
  • Schools have signage and markings to help students follow safety procedures.
  • There will be frequent cleaning of common areas and cleaning supplies in classrooms.
  • Social-emotional needs are recognized and monitored. 
  • Small classes provided for students and teachers.
  • I must be physically present in class to be counted as present on my in-school day. 

MY AT-HOME DAY

  • My teachers, including my advisor, will post a question each day on Schoology, that I have to answer within a posted time frame to be counted present for that day. 
My School Day - Pagosa Family School (T/TH)
MY IN-SCHOOL DAY
  • I go through the screening process.
  • I enter with my cohort through my designated entrance.
  • I clean my hands with hand sanitizer often.
  • I make sure my mask is on correctly.
 
  • I have two classes.
  • I remain in my cohort for each period
  • I sit in my assigned seat and maintain social distancing.
  • I clean my space before leaving.
  • Students learn and practice safety routines.
  • Schools have signage and markings to help students follow safety procedures.
  • There will be frequent cleaning of common areas and cleaning supplies in classrooms.
  • Social-emotional needs are recognized and monitored. 
  • Small classes provided for students and teachers.
My School Day - San Juan Mountain School
MY IN-SCHOOL DAY
  • I wait in line with 6 feet between me and others.
  • My parents wait with me. 
  • The bus driver takes my temperature before I get onto the bus.
  • If I have a fever, I go home with my parents.
  • If not, I get on the bus with my mask on and sit in my assigned seat.

  • I walk into the SJMS.
  • I let the teacher know if I would like breakfast.
  • I take my assigned seat and wait for the morning orientation to begin.
  • Since we don’t follow the bell schedule at PSHS, I work with my teachers to determine the tasks I need to complete each day.
  • Once my goals are set, I begin to work on my own and with my teachers to accomplish them. 
  • I always let a teacher know if I need extra help.
  • I remain in SJMS at all times.
  • I do not go to the campus of Pagosa Springs High School. 
  • I avoid congregating in the parking lots with other students, too. 
  • At lunch I sit outside or at my work station, but not with my friends.
   
  • We help clean up after ourselves, and the teachers also clean our classrooms.
  • We each have our own supplies and our own computers, so we don’t share germs. 
  • We are allowed to bring our own snacks and water bottles, but the kitchen has been temporarily closed to reduce the risk of infection.
MY AT-HOME DAY
  • I submit my morning orientation and goal sheet to my teacher.
  • If I don’t have access to the internet, I call my teacher and talk with them about it.
  • I sometimes need to adjust my daily goals if the teacher suggests I work on something different.
  • Once my goals are set, I work at my own pace to accomplish them each day. 
  • My teachers will check my work and discuss my progress when I return to school next week.
