Rick Holt has served as Superintendent of Archuleta School District since 2022. He brings incredible leadership and teaching experience at very different kinds of schools. Before joining ASD, he helped implement big changes at the Roaring Fork School District as the long-time Chief Academic Office and principal of Carbondale Middle School. Before these leadership roles, he worked in a remote Alaskan School District as a teacher and as an instructional coach, wearing all sorts of hats and working closely with families in more than a dozen villages.

In every role, Rick approaches the work with a belief that we can change student lives and that student success starts with strong classroom instruction, access to rigorous curriculum for all, and a culture that values relationships, safety, and trust. He has a proven track record of building high-functioning schools where collaboration, shared responsibility, and continuous improvement drive better outcomes for every student. 

In his spare time, Rick enjoys doing hard things in the mountains and on the water with his twin sons and his wife, Miss Tiff, a long-time educator.
