Innovation Station Middle School Students hold Mock Public Hearing
As a part of Innovation Station classes at Pagosa Springs Middle School, students studied multiple perspectives and stakeholder issues related to the proposed Jackson Mountain Landscape project. Students learned from guest speaker, Dana Guinn, and made their public comment on the San Juan National Forest website. Afterwards, students participated in a mock public hearing and panel discussion engaging with community members representing; Archuleta County, Natural Resources Conservation Services, Backcountry Horseman, Dust 2, Pagosa Outside and Pagosa Trails Council.
After the event Bob Milford of Pagosa Trails Council shared the following statement:
"I was happy to participate! Plus I must say how impressed I was with your students with their knowledge and great questions on the proposed
Jackson Mountain Project."
