DAC Launches Family Engagement Survey
The DAC (District Accountability Committee) is asking for your feedback in the form of a survey. The DAC is made up of parents, community members, administrators, and teachers who meet monthly in open meetings. By completing the Family Engagement Survey, families will have the opportunity to share how schools can create a more welcoming school environment, support student learning at home, and build lasting partnerships that contribute to student success.
The survey will open on February 23rd and close on March 8th. You can take the survey online at home, or when you come to your school's parent-teacher conferences next week.

Honoring ASD's Board of Directors
In January, Archuleta School District took the time to honor its Board of Directors. As citizens of Archuleta school district who serve children and represent their communities, school board members face complex and demanding challenges. The month of January is designated as School Board Recognition Month in honor of the critical role our schools board members play in serving our students, our communities, and our state. All Coloradans should recognize the vital contributions these elected public officials play in the education of our children. They are extraordinary people who voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing school districts.
THANK YOU to our Board members Dana Guinn, Bob Lynch, Butch Mackey, Amanda Schick, and Tim Taylor for your service to our schools, our community, and our students.

ASD's Music Department Enjoys Learning Together
The entire music department of Archuleta School District recently returned from four very productive and educational days at the Colorado Music Educators Association in Colorado Springs. During their time there, they were immersed in hands-on sessions relating to music education spanning from kindergarten to high school, including general music, vocal music, instrumental music, and more. The team also used their time together to improve vertical alignment between all of the ASD schools. "Attending CMEA is always extremely helpful," commented Malinda Burnett, PSMS Music Educator, "But this was my favorite so far because we all went together as a team. We were able to be productive as a team in addition to our individual learning."
