  Promising Practice - Educators Matter Featured

  As Colorado experiences a teacher shortage, some school districts are finding innovative ways to attract and retain teachers. Archuleta School District in Pagosa Springs is giving teachers room to grow professionally and encouraging them to develop their passions outside the school room. Dolores School District in southwestern Colorado opened an infant/toddler center that gave teachers with young children first preference.

• Chris Baum is a 2006 graduate of Pagosa Springs High School. Featured

  Chris went to the prestigious Berklee School of Music. Today, Chris Baum is a contemporary violinist, composer, educator, and recording artist, best known for his work with Bent Knee. Bent Knee's music is energetic, creative and unique. The band recently signed a recording contract with Sony, who released their fourth album, Land Animal, in June.
